Dr. Julie Vogt was a scholar of burlesque performance. Her work and research focused on performances from the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries, particularly focusing on the well-known burlesque performer Ann Corio. After earning her PhD in theatre and drama from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she went on to teach at the University of Wisconsin, University of Texas-Austin, and Colby-Sawyer College.
